This development project is part of my thesis research conducted with Politecnico di Milano and Schiphol, Amsterdam airport, in 2016. As a result, I created a conceptual app for I+Safe, an emergency service.

I+SAFE In the event of an emergency at the airport, our solution has got you covered. We provide an emergency kit packed with essential survival tools, a smart card for connectivity, and other crucial digital resources to guarantee your safety during the crisis.

Based on the I+Safe storyboard, I can speculate on the necessary resources to assist passengers in an emergency or challenging situation. However, I still need to identify the specific touchpoints and features of the App/innovation technology they require.

08.  User Flow

Disruption at the airport
 

So the users flow here is divided into three primary purposes of the service. First, it's for passengers who arrive at the airport and have a long layover or want to come early and spend their time there. Second, for users who made a mistake, not only passengers could it be from the airline's company. For example, re-booking their flight, losing their luggage, booking covid test Etc. 

The last purpose is for emergencies. It can be the airport closed due to weather conditions, technical issues at the airport or terrorist attacks. The problem caused the airport to close and stop its service.

09.  Low Fidelity

During the design process, creating wireframes helped me gain a clearer understanding of the final product. These wireframes are based on the users' needs and flow. To ensure their effectiveness, I conducted user testing by requesting them to complete a specific task: assisting passengers in utilizing all airport facilities to their fullest potential, based on their individual needs.

10.  High Fidelity

The landing page needs to provide a clearer explanation of the service for users. As the app caters to digital travellers, all types of passengers can use it to navigate the airport, ensuring their comfort and safety during the COVID-19 restrictions for air travel.

Comfort features

At the airport, we prioritize comfort and simplicity above all else. Our services are designed to be user-friendly, ensuring that passengers have the best possible experience. Registering or logging in is a breeze with the option to use your social media or booking code. With our comfort features, you can even book in advance and store your receipts on your smartphone using our e-wallet or Pass. For maximum efficiency, we offer registration through your social media account.

Connectivity features
 

Passengers can rest easy knowing that the features offered by our service anticipate and address potential human errors. In the event of a missed flight, passengers have the ability to efficiently re-book their necessary accommodations, such as transportation and COVID-19 testing. Additionally, we provide passengers with a smart card and voucher for quick and reliable internet access, ensuring they can stay connected with the world and stay informed at all times.

One way to ensure passengers are well-informed and connected is by offering reliable and high-speed Wi-Fi, along with timely notifications that provide accurate information about the airport to the global community.

Safety features

In the event of an emergency at the airport, the I+SAFE team will keep you informed of the situation and provide all passengers with an Emergency Kit to ensure your safety. This app allows you to access facilities for receiving notifications, communicating with the team, and receiving guidance.

 

Chat feature with the I+SAFE team if you PANIC or need an urgent situation. The I+SAFE team will get to you and take care of you.
